Unique and fascinating is the animation and colorful characterization of Mound by Allison Schulnik.
Fascinated? Want to know more about the artist? Well, Allison Schulnik, the Queen of lush and juicy paint opened up her Los Angeles studio to Beautiful/Decay Magazine and has given us insight into her painting and animation process. She grew up in San Diego, studied experimental animation at Cal Arts, hoped to make films, but couldn’t really find her place in the film industry with her unique and obscure style. Allison discusses how her paintings inform her animations and vice versa and the process (and the alone time holed up in her studio) in between is therapeutic. Check out her world of hobo clowns and fantastical clay-mation-like figurines and familiarize yourself with more of her art world.
