Genis Carreras’s Geometric Break Down Of Philosophy

It has been said that the purpose of art is to represent and illustrate the big ideas we try as humans to wrap our heads around. Much like how difficult it is to account for every individual tree when observing an entire forest from our limited perspective, great art and design can suggest more than mere language through color combinations and forms which can alter mood and mind alike.

London-based Graphic Designer Genis Carreras has taken this concept to the extreme by distilling big philosophical ideas and concepts that have influenced entire generations of people down to a core geometric image with copy in her series Philographics. Each poster is a refreshing distillation of a concept broken down to it’s elementary parts through the language of design. It serves as a testament to the power of great design and the impact it can have.
