Ian Hobson’s Otherworldly Light Photography

Creatively lighting up the night sky isn’t just limited to fireworks and lighting displays, the “Light Art Performance Photography” of Ian Hobson, particularly his work “Waving Torches At Things,” uses nothing but adept camera skills to get the results of these fantastic, psychedelic visual effects. Considering “the only post-processing is conversion of the digital negatives into JPEGs,” it is remarkable to see how the photos could easily be mistaken as Photoshop manipulations.

Ian’s work seems to portray portals to parallel dimensions, vortexes unto the unknown and otherworldly beings through analog techniques which means in fact what you see is really there. It makes you wonder how our perception of time and space affects our consciousness and if the 3rd dimension really is an illusion, what other unseen magnificence might we be missing out on in the blink of an eye?
