JR Women, Morro da Providência, Rio is an absolutely breathtaking short film made by Anthony Dickenson with a one shot time-lapse camera move that travels through the first favela ( shanty town) of the Brazilian capital. To create this technically very challenging piece of film, Anthony spent three days shooting individual still frames as he explored the hillside town. Anthony Dickenson provides an excellent exploration of the French artist, JR’s art in Rio and provides definition and context to how the street art projects of JR thematically represent and tie into the homes and lives of the residents of the favela. This film is inspirational and really smart visual storytelling.
After you watch JR Women, Morro da Providência, Rio be sure to enjoy JR’s Women Are Heroes award winning film.
