Kim Høltermand‘s photography is like the stuff you literally see in dreams: ethereal landscapes and unusual architecture that seem to endlessly blend into the atmosphere. His style focuses on the unique contours and angles of each subject, highlighting unique symmetries and perspectives with complementary lighting. Through the application of these techniques, the diverse array of photos are interesting enough to stand alone, yet are cohesive enough to seem a part of the same universe: much like something you would find in the game MYST.

Kim has a remarkable sense to find to find new perspectives of the same subject which reminds me of the tale of the blind men and an elephant and how important it is to observe and consider all of the dimensions of who and what we interact with. As a testament to his attention to detail, Kim has a day job working as a fingerprints expert in the Crime Scene Unit of The Danish National Police. Though it may or may not directly influence his photography, it is clear that Kim’s well-trained eye and and sense for detail truly make his work unique.
