We are in awe over the animation work of Mirai Mizue, a leader in Japan’s new generation of abstract animators.
A video he made in 2009 called Jam portrays his style and fascination with cells. In this video he literally jammed colors and swirls of cell-like creatures on a screen in a complex movement, so abstract there actually isn’t much narrative, but the animation increasingly gets more intense it’s hard to pay attention just to see what happens next.
Another video by Mirai Mizue – Timbre A to Z, an animation sequence of 26 abstract pieces made in 26 consecutive days. Again this animation shows his strong obsession towards cells. The chaos is mesmerizing in every frame.
