Peter Callesen Makes Skeletons, Animals and Castles Out of Sheets of White Paper

Peter Callesen thrives on creating art from paper. Using paper as his medium, he creates beautiful sculptural works. Each work is made by cutting out one sheet of paper, and using the removed scraps to create figures, buildings, and other objects. His work ranges from 2D to 3D. The sheets of paper he uses range from small a4 size or as big as 7m by 5m. The materialization of a flat piece of paper becomes a magical process for him. It’s incredible that white basic paper can take on such a personality, but Peter’s paper work has a life, it has a story, it appears like a page of a book or a first step to a fairytale animated film. Making animals, skeletons and castles emerge from sheets of paper that rest on a table top – this is no elementary school art project, this is the prolific art of Peter Callesen (selects of his a4 paper art) featured:
