“Sunshine” by Doug Nichol – We’re Lovin’ It

This hilariously invigorating documentary-short conveys the communication and behavioral standards of Chinese people in Shanghai experiencing fast food and the frustrations of an advertising executive. Sunshine explores the challenge many creatives face – in finding the balance between creative artistic expression and appeasing a corporate client (like McDonald’s) when making a branded commercial.

“…some directors are filmmakers and some are hustlers, either you are a hustler or you aren’t …”

Synopsis: An American advertising producer in Shanghai tries to sell fast food to the Chinese. An endearing portrait of a modern day “Mad Man.”
