Suren Manavelyan’s Art Of Perception

“Through our eyes, the universe is perceiving itself. Through our ears, the universe is listening to its harmonies. We are the witnesses through which the universe becomes conscious of its glory, of its magnificence.” – Alan Wilson Watts -

These are definitely interesting times we live in in that through our technological advancement, we have collectively become more sensitive to the occurrences and nuances of the natural order of our universe on both macro and microscopic levels.

Armenian photographer, Suren Manvelyan‘s work “Your Beautiful Eyes” exemplifies this phenomenon: with modern camera technology and brilliant technique, Suren has created a stunning collection of photos that reveal the eye to be a unique, hyper-complex form of biological-technology at a level that we have been striving to achieve through our own technological ambitions.

As the lines between technology and our biology seem to blur more and more through time, the lens of a camera observing a biological one in Suren’s work is food for thought that reveals the “magnificence” that Alan Wilson Watts describes in a whole new light.
