The History of Bees Animated

Learn about the History Of Bees in the below animated segment of our Subculture Club episode on Urban Beekeeping. Bees have played a part in human culture for a long time, even since the caveman days. Beekeeping was an important role in Ancient Greece, Egypt, and still remains in present day. Honey can be found in the homes of many people even though we are rarely connected to where it comes from. Nowadays, bee populations are dropping at a rapid pace due to the Colony Collapse Disorder. Some believe reasons for this could be from mite infestations or pesticide use. As a result of the declining bee population many people are starting their own backyard beekeeping in order to help the bees survive.
