Todd Selby is a portrait, interiors, journalist, fashion photographer and illustrator. His website The Selby is a must have bookmarked site, because on a daily basis he delivers us an intimate look into the homes and studios of creative people all over the world. He has a very special talent for capturing the emotion, devotion and personality of a place through the people that open their door to him.
In addition to his galleries upon galleries featured on The Selby, on his Vimeo page there is also a short-film series featuring some really interesting artists in their creative spaces. The short-documentary featured here gives a look at prolific New York sculptor Tom Sachs in his studio where he touches on various sculpting ethics that he picked up after working two years in Frank Gehry’s furniture fabrication shop! Dive deep into Tom Sachs philosophy of making and his craft of sculpting something special out of what appears to be nothing.
