Question of The Day

This has to do with the Olympics. I've been hearing a lot of talk lately about security concerns in Greece, and as such, some athletes are nervous about going over there. Basketball players like Shaq and Tracy McGrady have expressed reservations about going.

However, they're not relevant to this question as they are adults. They can make their own decisions. What we do know about the Olympics is that quite often, there are athletes competing who are under 18. They're . In those cases, the decision is really up to the parents.

Now, I am sure that the media is making the security situation out to be much worse than it is, but it's still a concern. There are who have been practicing what they do best for years for a chance to win an Olympic medal. Hell, I remember what a rush it was to win medals in the 8th grade when we competed against other grade schools in my small hometown of Carteret, NJ. Imagine what it must be like to hoist an Olympic medal where you have proven your worth against the best athletes in the world.

But it has to be a concern for many of these parents. Do they want to see their win a gold medal in a gymnastics comptetition only to see her injured or God forbid killed in a terrorist attack? I doubt it.

Question is, what would you do? If youd had a under the age of 18 that quailified to be in the Olympics, would you let them go or would you keep them here for fear that terrorists coud get to them while in Athens?
